“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!” (Romans 5:8)
ONE GREAT HOPE
There is ONE great Creator God “But God proves His own love for us…” God is the Creator of all things. God made the world and does not live in shrines, idols, or anything created by human hands. God needs nothing from us, but He is the One who gives us life and breath (Acts 17:24-26). God loves His creation, and has proven His love for us.
We have ONE great problem “…in that while we were still sinners…” We have a sin problem. We have rebelled against God. We have tried to take control of our lives from the God who created us. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)
God has provided us with ONE hope “…Christ died for us.” Only God is great enough to save us from our sin problem and He proved His love for us by sending Jesus Christ as a perfect sacrifice to suffer the penalty of our sin through His death on the cross (1 Peter 3:18). God approved the sacrifice of His Son and raised Him from the dead. Jesus Christ is our ONE and only way back to God (John 14:6).
We have ONE great decision We must repent of our sin and believe (trust) in Christ (Mark 1;15).
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 1);9). Express your repentance and faith by praying something like this;
“Dead God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive me of my sins. I’m sorry for all the wrong I’ve done and ask You to forgive me. I now accept Your gift of eternal life. Thank You for Your love, forgiveness, and a new life in Jesus Christ. From this day forward, I choose to follow You. In Jesus’ nam, Amen.” Share your decision to follow Jesus with a pastor or those in your Bible study group. Get involved in a church that will help you grow in your faith. DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST? In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” If you choose to begin a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus, you can find a peace that surpasses all understanding (see Philippians 4:7) as you seek His perfect will for your life.
The Bible says, “All have shinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Because of sin, we’re separated from God and spiritually dead. Because God loves us, He provided a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him. John 3: 16 says. “God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
God sent His Son Jesus, who lived a perfect life, to die on the cross as payment for our sin. To begin a personal relationship with God, agree with Him about your sin and your need for forgiveness.
If you’re ready to make this choice, as an affirmation of your belief, you might wish to pray a prayer like this one:
Dear God, I understand that I’m a sinner, but I believe Jesus died for my sins, and I now accept His gift of eternal life. Thank You for forgiving my sins. Thank You for my new life. From this day on, I choose to follow You and Your will for my life. Article (taken from Journey Magazine, June 2016)
Removing your sin is the solution, but the problem is you can’t do it! But Jesus can. God loves ou and doesn’t want to leave you in your sin. Sin leads to eternal death, but He wants you with Him for eternity. Jesus took your sin and died in your place. God raised Jesus from the dead, and His resurrected life means resurrected life for you too. Forgiveness, Freedom, A new beginning. A life with Him that never ends.
To receive this gift, you must let go of your sin. Repent and put your faith in Christ. Admit to God you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Express your repentance and faith by praying something like this:
“Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive me of my sins. I’m sorry for all the wrong I’ve done, and ask You to forgive me. I now accept Your gift of eternal life. Thank You for Your love, forgiveness, and a new life in Jesus Christ. From this day forward, I choose to follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
